Rare Class of Radio Stars (E)

2021 has been an exceptionally good year for the Pune-based Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope. This year, not only did it become the third Indian facility to receive the highly coveted IEEE milestone but also contributed to many unique studies revealing new facets of the universe. Now, astronomers at NCRA Pune, have confirmed to discover eight Main-sequence Radio Pulse Emitters, in 2021 alone using the GMRT. This raises the number of known MRPs to 15 and out of them, 11 have been discovered using the GMRT.
