New Model Developed by Indian Institute of Astrophysics (E)

Scientists at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore, an autonomous institute of the Department of Science and Technology, have designed a model for the detection of the so far elusive exomoons using data obtained from the James Webb Space Telescope. Scientists have demonstrated that the James Webb Space Telescope is powerful enough to detect the transit signal of exomoons in the photometric light curves of moon hosting exoplanets.
