ISRO Scientist Discovered A New Exoplanet (E)

Scientists at the Indian Space Research Organization have discovered a new planet outside our solar system. Discovered by ISRO’s Ahmedabad-based Physical Research Laboratory, this exoplanet is 1.4 times larger than our solar system’s Jupiter. This exoplanet is orbiting a star that is 725 light-years away from us, and is referred to as HD 82139 or TOI 1789. The planet will be named HD 82139b or TOI 1789b, after the star. The study, conducted by the Exoplanet Research and Study Group, led by Professor Abhijit Chakraborty of the Physical Research Laboratory, used the Lab’s 1.2 meter telescope located at the Mount Abu Observatory.
