Maharashtra is known for its ancient culture and natural wealth...But in the last few years, petroglyphs found in different areas of the state have also helped it to attract a lot of attention… Nearly a thousand petroglyphs have been discovered along the Konkan Coastin the Ratnagiri and Rajapur regions and according to the Department of Archaeology, these rock carvings are 10 to 12 thousand years old. It is believed that the discovery will open new avenues to understanding the early history of this area.
