Coral reefs are a natural wonder of the world, but in recent decades, they are up against the huge challenge of climate change & global warming. In India, geologists & marine scientists are striving to understand India’s unique coral belt so that we might be able to protect them from extinction. In this episode, we dive underwater with them to understand how the islands of Lakshadweep were born over millennia of volcanic action, making the perfect ecosystem for coral species to thrive in tropical waters. We also meet those who are valiantly combatting coral bleaching in a bid to save this exquisite & fragile life form.
