Choking Oceans: Assimilative Capacity (E)

The movie projects the ability of the environment to absorb pollutants to a certain limit without harmfully impacting the environment or those using it. Natural assimilation into an environment is attained through dispersion, dilution, and removal through, physical, chemical, or biological processes. The concept has been explained by an animation that conceptualizes the idea of assimilative capacity and its relevance to the earth system. The concept of assimilative capacity is becoming very relevant in recent years as the environmental ecosystems around the globe are experiencing an increased flux of novel pollutants. This flux is beside the mounting conventional pollutant issues due to anthropogenic and natural reasons.
